Really enjoyed this trip through time and through pages - and meeting Corbu. The Tolkien’s Elvish script is a riot! Can you read it back to yourself without using a cipher? Just curious.
Belated thanks, Amy! Sorry that I only just saw your comment, somehow. I so much appreciate you taking the time to send a note. I've been having fun posting these old sketchbook pages and it's so nice to hear when they resonate with a reader! I enjoyed taking a look at your sketchbook pages, too!
And yes, I can still read that Elvish writing. It's very handy for writing down notes that I don't want my kids to read!
Very cool. And I absolutely get the reasons for using it - and that's funny about the kids. I experimented with an encoded. partial pictograph. alphabet set a while back - but I kept knowing I would lose the key. Lol. I don't plan to learn the elvish script, but I loved seeing this.
I think this script just got burned into my brain after using it, for years, to write many notes to the high school friend who learned it along with me. In pre-cell phone/email days, this was the only communication available, and we were committed! :) Thanks again!!!
