Hi readers! My name is Sam Hester. I make comics & do other art/writing stuff in Calgary/Moh’kinsstis, Canada.

I began writing autobiographical comics about 30 years ago, when I started a sketchbook journal called “The Drawing Book.” Since then, I’ve gone on to write some published comics (for example, in The Sprawl), and I also work as a graphic recorder (you can find out more about that on my website, www.the23rdstory.com).

But those old sketchbooks full of comics are just sitting around, unread. I figured it was time to publish them online, so that’s what this Substack is for. I really like these old comics, and I hope you will, too!
